Do you remember, we climbed up to the roof of your house and sat

under the stars like saturn, stretching wide our rings around us,

we passed a fifth of whiskey and laughed

at the paper towns

the meaning of life.

Do you remember, we lay on my floor and I read you my poems,

the night clung to the walls of my house, do you remember

naked long board rides, bare feet, standing

at the top of that parking garage questing their ideas.

Do you remember, the Romeo and Juliet wall, the letters

we wrote and hid in draws swimming hundreds of notes deep, the pile

of lost thoughts and found love, the treasure chest

of words.

Walk out to your concrete thrown, sit with your feet hovering off the edge, your pipe

smoke curling around your silhouette;

remember with me.

Do you remember, swimming in the ocean, our skin

bare and raw kissing int he salty waves, pillows

of white foam washing around our limbs, your eyes

the color of the sea.

There's a song that I can't place, it sounds like

sun burned kayak kisses and hidden love notes, like

5am and you're bursting into my room shouting happy birthday, like

stick and poke tattoos with a needle and pen ink from the craft store, like

fire pits, and road trips, blackberries and sweat and wet kisses and bare skin.

Do you remember falling in love?

Do you remember, we climbed up to the roof of your house and sat

under the stars like saturn, stretching wide our rings around us,

we passed a fifth of whiskey and laughed

at the paper towns

the meaning of life.

Do you remember, we lay on my floor and I read you my poems,

the night clung to the walls of my house, do you remember

of lost thoughts and found love, the treasure chest

of words.

Walk out to your concrete thrown, sit with your feet hovering off the edge, your pipe

Do you remember falling in love?
