I Seek You

poem/ poetic thoughts

· poetry

I seek the heavens, I cry out for the eternal faith;

I seek love, the kind that brings passion to the heart and peace to the mind,

I seek beauty, in every brush stroke that painted

the silhouettes of the mountains against a deep blue sky,

the silver crystals of light in the heavens;

I seek the sunrise splashed over a barren land

and the sunset spread over the rippling ocean.

My heart searches for Him in all things.

I seek Him while my heart beats,

I seek Him while my eyes open,

I seek Him while there's breath to fill my lungs.

I seek Him when the waters are dark and the light has turned gray

I seek Him in the light when joy has overwhelmed my day.

Our souls, eternal, our flesh, mortal, our hearts

always searching for the author of all beauty;

His face I seek always, His smile I long to see

His flesh I long to hold, for it is with Him I long to be.

I seek the heavens, I cry out for the eternal faith;

I seek love, the kind that brings passion to the heart and peace to the mind,

I seek beauty, in every brush stroke that painted

the silhouettes of the mountains against a deep blue sky,

the silver crystals of light in the heavens;

Our souls, eternal, our flesh, mortal, our hearts

always searching for the author of all beauty;

His face I seek always, His smile I long to see

His flesh I long to hold, for it is with Him I long to be.
